    Equipment for NPP

    Pumps with a trademark PJSC “Sumy Frunze NPO” are working at nuclear power plants in Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Bulgaria, China, India and other countries. The production of pumps in special shops, in full compliance with the rules and standards on safety in nuclear power, subject to strict technical control on test benches.

    Equipment for chemical productions

     During its more than 115-year history, the company has gained extensive experience in developing and manufacturing as a separate equipment for chemical plants and complete technological lines for the chemical, oil, gas, food, medical industries and other branches of national economy of the CIS countries and abroad.

    Equipment for oil and gas industry

    More than 40 years PJSC “Sumy Frunze NPO” is a leader in the production of equipment for the oil and gas industry. The main part of this equipment consists of gas compressor units.

    Pumping Equipment

    Pumping equipment distinguished by great diversity of water ring vacuum pumps and compressors as well as rotary pumps manufactured at the enterprise, designed for various industrial branches. Range includes cantilever pumps chemical, chemical submersible, centrifugal sectional centrifugal sectional mines, water ring vacuum and liquid ring compressors.

    Reciprocating Compressors

    PJSC “Sumy Frunze NPO” is one of the oldest manufacturing companies relating to opposing reciprocating compressors and the only one enterprise in the country, manufactures a heavy compressors.

    Pipeline valves

    Since 1986 PJSC “Sumy Frunze NPO”  has occupied firm position in CIS countries market as the main manufacturer of pipeline valves for gas industry.

    Centrifuges

    The company produces almost all known types of technology in the world of centrifuges, including: modern automatic and heavy continuously operating centrifuges, high speed tubular centrifuges, etc.

    Castings

    Manufactures gray cast iron, steel and nonferrous metals.

    Equipment for aluminum production

    The Company has been mastered the manufacture of complete process equipment for Aluminum productions.  PJSC «Sumy Frunze NPO" is ready to perform almost complete electrolysis equipment and foundries anode assembly department.

    Equipment for the processing and storage of agricultural products

    Forgings

    On unique equipment of domestic and foreign production the company produces forgings made ​​of structural carbon, low alloyed, tool, corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, heat-resistant and wear-resistant steels and non-ferrous metals.

    Welding materials

    The electrode consisting of production of PJSC “Sumy Frunze NPO” is engaged in “Frunze-Electrode” LLC.

    PJSC «Sumy Frunze NPO», unique by its production potentialities, has available the most up-to-date equipment. The company has highly developed blanking, welding, and assembly facilities the technical level of which meets the highest quality requirements.

    Forgings

    Forgings are manufactured by forging and stamping tool backer of structural carbon, low alloy, corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, heat-resistant and wear-resistant steels, non-ferrous metals and alloys.

    Equipment

    Hydraulic forging press by JSW (Japan) with down pressure 2000 ton per second. It is served through forging manipulator with load-lifting capacity of 18 tons.

    Allows obtaining the following forgings:

    The press makes possible to manufacture the following forgings:

    • Solid discs and discs with a hole of diameter up to 1500 mm and weight up to 5000 kg;
    • Shafts with barrels diameter to 750 mm, length to 6000 mm and weight up to 8000 kg;
    • Rolled rings with external diameter up to 1800 mm and weight up to 6000 kg;
    • Cylinders with external diameter up to 900 mm and length up to 1800 mm, weight up to 5000 kg;
    • Bars and plates of length up to 5000 mm, weight up to 8000 kg.

    «Wagner Dorthmund» the ring-rolling machine RAW 160/125 of 160 t radial force and 125 t axial force.

    It makes possible to manufacture seamless rolled rings with external diameter from 450 mm up to 3500 mm, height from 60 mm to 500 mm and weight up to 3500 kg.

    Pneumatic and steam-driven free forging hammer of arch and bridge type, with drop parts weight from 150 kg to 3000 kg.

    It makes possible to manufacture the following forgings:

    • discs and rolled rings of diameter from 100 mm up to 600 mm, weight up to 320 kg;
    • shafts of barrel diameter up to 400 mm, length up to 400 mm, weight up to 2000 kg;
    • bars and plates of section up to 350 mm, length 3500 mm, weight up to 2000 kg;
    • Shaped forgings.

    The company has available powerful foundries, which provide with castings the basic production sector as well as deliveries for cooperation. The foundries comprise the casting sectors of both high and low pressure, for investment patterns as well as for continuous casting of steel and aluminum founding. The Company manufactures the castings of grey cast iron, steels, non-ferrous metals and alloys.

    The PJSC «Sumy Frunze NPO» manufactures the castings of the following grey cast iron grades: Sch 10, Sch 35 (GOST 1412-85), Chkh1, Chkh2, Kh3, ChKh28D2 (GOST 7769-82).These castings are intended to manufacture parts of pumps for NPP, heavy-duty compressors and chemical equipment, which are operated in conditions of aggressive, toxic, explosion and fire dangerous media, high pressure and wide temperature ranges. The finished castings meet the strict requirements for mechanical properties, microstructure, chemical composition and density. Cast iron is produced in IChT-6 induction furnaces.

    Castings weight: from 50 g to 20,000 kg at maximum dimensions of 6000 x 4000 x 900 mm.

    For steel castings the following steel grades are used: 20L, 25Л, 20GL, 20GSL, 35GL, 20Kh13L, 12Kh18N9TL, (GOST 977-88). The steel castings are intended to manufacture parts of pumps for NPP, centrifuges and heavy-duty compressors, which are operated in conditions of radioactive media and high pressure. Steel melting is carried out in DSP-1.5, DSP-3 electric arc and IST – 0.4 induction furnaces.

    Castings weight: from 10 kg to 2500 kg at maximum dimensions of 1500 x 1000 x 1000 mm.

    For investment casting the following steel grades are used: 20H13L, 12H18N9TL, 12H18N12M3TL. The main nomenclature list includes impellers and guide vanes for centrifugal pumps. Steel melting is carried out in IST – 0.4 induction furnaces.

    For copper alloys casting the following grades are used: BrO5C5S5, BrO10F1, BrA9G3L, BrO7S13N3, BrO12S2, L63. Casting is carried out in IST-0.16 and IST-0.4 induction furnaces. Pouring is carried out into chill molds, molds of centrifugal machines and partially in sand forms.

    Castings weight: to 200 kg at maximum dimensions of 500x500x300 mm.

    For aluminum alloys casting the following grades are used: АК12, АК5M2, АК5М7. Casting is carried out in IAT – 0.4 induction and crucible gas furnaces.

    Castings weight: to 150 kg at maximum dimensions of 800x800x300 mm.

    Thermal process

    It makes possible to perform both preliminary and final heat and chemical-heat treatment of parts manufactured by the PJSC «Sumy Frunze NPO» and the co-operation. To obtain the desired set of properties of steels and alloys the thermal divisions of workshops are equipped with tools for conducting of all types of heat treatment of forgings, castings, various welded structures and pipes. For heat treatment (normalizing, quenching in water, tempering) castings weighing up to 6t chamber gas furnace with the size of working space 2900x4500x2150mm are used. The age-hardening of cast iron is carried out in a furnace with bogie hearth working volume of 3950x8150x3800mm. Heat treatment of forgings is carried out in the gas chamber and shaft electric furnaces.

    Blank production

    • Gas-cutting machine with computer control of the company «Messer Grischeim» dimensional cutting blanks for complex configuration of carbon steel;    
    • Laser cutting machine «Bystronic» CNC for cutting work pieces of complex configuration of high-carbon steels and non-ferrous metals;    
    • Plasma-coordinate nibbling machine «Trumatik 300" firm «Trumpf» for cutting work pieces of complex configuration of carbon and stainless steels;
    • Band sawing machines with the possibility of cutting structural stock at an angle 30-60 °;
    • Pipe bending machines URB-703; URB-506; HTL-4 production of Japan for bending pipes F25-219 with a variety bending radius;
    • Pipe bending machines with HFC heating SRB300, SRBM600 made ​​in Germany with flexible pipes up to 530 mm and wall thickness up to 50 mm;
    • Guillotine shears for cutting down the sheet material thickness from 1 to 30 mm and a maximum length of the series to 6600mm;
    • Edge-and edge-milling machines with length of treated surface up to 12 m;
    • Roll Forming Machine «Asano Seiki» XZP and 120/15 for bending of flanges of the strip in cold; Flange bending machines hot flanges.

    Welding Engineering

    In boiler welding shops includes the following hardware:

    • Horizontal bending machine for bending machines hull shells with a wall thickness of 1 to 150 mm;
    • Range of equipment, including press and automatic flanging machine for making elliptic and tori-spherical head in diameter 1800-4000 mm and flanging conical bottoms for a given radius for wall thickness up to 40 mm;
    • hydraulic press Q = 400 ton per second and Q = 800 ton per second for stamping of elliptic elements and spherical bottoms, ball valves and housings stamped pipeline fittings by hot stamping;
    • Machines for winding twisted heat exchangers with helical portion length of 6 m and in diameter up to 2200 mm;
    • Hydraulic staples for case assembly equipment operating under pressure; winding machine for spiral heat exchangers;
    • Installation of manufacturing coiled vessels up to 20 m.

    The welding sector widely employs robotic, automatic and mechanized welding machines, test benches and equipment of «Fronius», «IGM», «ESAB», «Polisoud», «Deuma» companies with manipulators of load-lifting capacity from 10t to 100 t.

    The following welding and facing procedures are used:

    • Automatic under flux, including and electro-slag welding;
    • Mechanized and automatic gas-shielded solid and cored;
    • Orbital non-consumable electrode argon-arc for the connection «pipe + pipe» and «pipe + tube sheet;
    • Electron beam;
    • High-frequency in pipes manufacturing and fining,
    • Seam and spot contact,
    • Friction welding,
    • Strip electrode welding.

    Widely implemented supporting technologies - vacuum brazing, plasma cutting, bonding and hardening of metals - Gas-thermal, plasma, electric arc, vacuum.

    Mechanical assembly production

    Number of machine tools main shops of PJSC involved for production output of over 1 500 units, including NC machines and machining centers - 220 (33 of them are unique).

    This equipment has a high degree of technological accuracy of leading machine companies:

    The machinery equipment annually held scheduled maintenance and checking for geometric accuracy. Systematically refine and renovation of equipment in general.

    Bench and assembly workshops are located on land spans the width 24 ... 36 meters and equipped with cranes (50 to 150 tons), assembly plates and assembly stands, hydraulic stands (up to 60 mPa) and air (up to 40 mPa) tests, balancing machines (17 units) and stands for overclocking tests of products, including unique acceleration and balancing stand firm SCHENCK, providing the possibility of testing and balancing booster vacuum rotors centrifugal compressors weighing up to 2 500kg at a speed up to 40 000 r / min.

    In 1982 he graduated the faculty of “Automobiles and Automobile economy” of Kharkov “Motorcar and Road Institute”.  In 1995 he graduated faculty of economic by specialty “Finances and Credit, on specialization Banking” of Kharkov State University named after M.Gorkiy.

    Mr. Subbotin is the Candidate of Economic Science. He is a full member (Academician) of Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine, Engineering Academy of Ukraine and International Engineering Academy.

    In 1996 he graduated faculty of air-motors and power-units of Kharkov Institute of Aviation.  In 2000 he graduated faculty of finances of Kharkov University of Economy. 

    From 2007 to 2010 held the position of Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance "Turboatom". Since March 2010 he works as First Deputy Director General.

    The production of steam turbines is full cycle of creation equipment research, design, manufacture, testing, installation supervision, commissioning, technical engineering support, software maintenance, modernization of equipment during operation.

    At the company works whole laboratories for testing of materials, turbine elements systems in accordance with international norms.

    The technical level of steam turbines of OJSC "Turboatom" is characterized by high efficiency and high availability.

    During the development of new designs and manufacturing turbines uses the latest achievements of experimental and theoretical scientific research and development activities including the preservation the continuity and unification on the basis of experience.

    The company has a unique research base, which produced full-scale or model testing of the most critical components to provide the required aerodynamic, vibration, strength characteristics. Studies are conducted in two directions: mathematical studies of parametric models of parts and assemblies, physical models and field studies of turbine elements.

    The company cooperates with scientific-research and research and development organizations of Ukraine and Russia.

    Since 1953, enterprise manufactures all kinds of reaction-type hydro turbines and inlet valves for domestic and foreign HPP and HPSPP.

    Development and design of hydro power equipment carries out by special design office “TURBOHYDROMASH”.

    SDO “TURBOHYDROMASH”, due to availability of skilled specialists and own experimental facilities, performs entire necessary work package of research and design, design and engineering developments for creation of modern hydraulic machines, including:

    • Flow parts for all kinds of reaction hydro turbines, reversible hydraulic machines and inlet valves designing;
    • New hydro turbine equipment design, entire necessary scope of hydrodynamic, strengthening and other special calculations realization;
    • Projects of modernization of equipment worked its service life performance;
  • Power –cavitational, pulsating, erosion, power tests of hydro turbine models, reversible hydromachines and also research of assemblies and machinery;
  • Condition survey of equipment, are subject to rehabilitation, using modern technical facilities, including testing at HPP;
  • Residual life prediction of parts of equipment, subject to reconstruction, using physic-mathematical model of destruction;
  • Acceptance testing of hydro turbines` and reversible hydraulic machines` models, including modernized water passages at special benches o the laboratory;
  • Supervise of equipment erection;
  • Commissioning and start-adjusting testing;
  • Warranty full scale testing of hydro turbine equipment;

    OJSC "Turboatom" is a manufacturer of power equipment and power engineering complex of Ukraine and belongs to the leading turbine construction companies in the world. The company specializes in the production of steam turbines for thermal power plants (TPP), nuclear power plants (NPP) and thermal power plants (CHP), hydraulic turbines for hydroelectric power plants (HPP) and reversible hydraulic for pumped storage plants (PSP), gas turbines and combined cycle gas turbines (CCGT) for thermal and other power equipment.

    In addition, the capabilities of the company allow producing of wide range of not-profile products, which laid the basis of manufacturing advanced technology machine assembly, welding and metallurgical capabilities of the company.

    Machining and assembly production of OJSC "Turboatom"is the main industrial process during the manufacture of equipment and constitutes about 65% of total volume of works regarding the equipment manufacture.

    The production is provided with equipment for turning, milling, boring, drilling, grinding, thread milling and thread-rolling, teeth-cutting, shot-blasting cleaning and painting, assembly and testing and is equipped with unique complex of metal-cutting machines -937 in number, including 80 CNC machine tools, 125 unique machine tools. For transportation, installation and assembly of parts and components production shops are equipped with overhead cranes 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 and 200 tons.

    Processing of parts such as "Shaft" is made on the unique CNC lathes with a diameter of up to 5000 mm in length up to 16 000 mm and with a maximum capacity of up to 200 tons.

    Processing is performed on body parts-type milling and boring machines, milling, including CNC machining centers. Maximal dimensions of work-pieces are:

    length - up to 17 000 mm, width - up to 5800 mm, height - up to 5000 mm.

    For the processing of hull and the annular parts are also used unique lathes with a maximum diameter of work-pieces up to 20 000 mm up to 5200 mm and a total weight of up to 400 tons. Milling surfaces of complex shape carried out at the unique CNC horizontal CNC rotary tables equipped with lifting capacity up to 125 tons.

    The company has facilities of covering the methods of steel parts chrome, satin nickel plating, chemical oxidation, galvanizing. Maximal dimensions of parts 300h1500 mm, maximum weight up to 1500 kg. Blank production includes the following features:

    Oxygen cutting carbon and alloy steels with a thickness of 4 mm to 160 mm of any configuration (manual cutter, semi-automatic, flange-cutter, ASH-70 CNC machines).

    Plasma cutting high-alloy steels, nonferrous metals, thicknesses from 6 to 56 mm.

    Mechanical cutting:

    • guillotine - up to 16mm thick;
    • disc cutters - thickness 4 mm;
    • press-cutters - Corner 100h100h10 mm;
    • mechanical hacksaw - O 159 mm.

    Ending of steel:

    • with a yield of up to 400 ... 500MPa;
    • thickness of up to 120 mm (depending on the width);
    • Maximum width of rollers - 5 meters;
    • rolling corner - 50h50h5 mm.

    Bending of tubes on the machine with HDTV:

    • Carbon steel - up to Ø219 mm;
    • of the alloy steel - up to Ø159 mm.

    Edit pages:

    • on the right rollers - thickness up to 40 mm.

    Welding production has:

    Welding technology:

    • carbon;
    • thermo-stable;
    • stainless steel;
    • austenitic steels.

    Welding process:

    • manual arc welding with covered electrodes (RDE);
    • arc gas shielded (MIG / MAG);
    • automatic submerged arc (AWF);
    • tungsten inert gas (TIG);
    • semi-automatic arc welding in CO2.

    Specialized areas:

    • welded rotors weighing up to 200 tons (weld in a narrow Cutting submerged arc);
    • orbital TIG welding joints "tube-tube plate (for heat exchangers);
    • arc deposition (aluminum) parts of hydraulic turbines;
    • welding Francis impellers;
    • welded stamped blades.

    Furnaces for heat treatment of welded structures:

    • up to 13 meters
    • up to 4 meters
    • width of 5 meters,
    • up to 200 tons.

    Welding production occupies 30-35% of all production areas of the plant and has a manufacturing capacity for about 30 thousand tons of welded structures in the year

    Welding production has a resolution of the State Supervision in:

    Exploitation of major hazard installations:

    • welding equipment;
    • equipment for flame materials designing.

    Execution of high risk:

    • welding, gas-flame, Hard-Facing work;
    • work with hand-held air tools.

    Permission for conducting certification of welders for admission to the performance of work:

    • with manual arc welding, MMA;
    • with welding consumable electrode active gases MAG;
    • welding Tungsten inert gas TIG;
    • submerged arc welding SF.

     

    Division Chief Welder has qualified personnel on welding production, including the international level.

    The main activities of the main welder:

    • development of technology for procurement of work;
    • development of technology of welded structures;
    • design development of non-standard equipment and tooling for welding;
    • valuation of work in the harvesting and welding production;
    • equipment for welding the new welding equipment;
    • research and development work on welding with the assistance of Scientific Research Institutes, including IES by E.O.Patona.

    Technological capabilities of metallurgical production

    Foundry includes the following features:

    Molding of blanks from carbon, alloy and stainless steels weighing from 100 to 10 000 kg.:

    • Smelting of steel produced in electric arc furnaces using of micro alloying;
    • Blowing of metal and oxygen provided in argon in a furnace ladle.

    Billet of non-ferrous alloys ranging from 1 to 450 kg:

    • Bronze (brand Бр010Ф1, Бр05Ц5С5, БрА9Ж3);
    • Aluminum АЛ-2;
    • Brass ЛЦ40Мц3Ж.

    Model shop produces:

    • wooden models for foundry manufacture any complexity.

    Producing of quality blanks provided by using modern molding equipment and mixtures based on furan resins.

    Quality of manufactured products complies with the international standard ISO 9001:2008.

    Forging production includes the following features:

    Methods of forgings manufacturing:

    • forging;
    • stamping shim tool hammers weighing falling parts from 150 to 3150 kg.

    Types of steel: carbon structural, low-alloy, alloy and high-alloy, corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant.

    Nomenclature:

    • wheels and rolled rings - up to 900 mm in diameter, weighing up to 300 kg.
    • shafts - barrel diameter up to 300 mm, length 2000 mm, weight up to 400 kg.
    • bars, plates and other forgings - weighing up to 400 kg.
    • shaped forgings.

    Billets are:   

    • rolled round and square sizes up to 300 mm;     
    • forging ingots weighing 675 kg.

    Billet shears made ​​with belt machines. Thermal production has the following features:

    Chemical heat treatment (nitration) of parts dimensions 600x650x2100 mm

    Stress relieving after welding with a load of up to 200 tons:

    • shaft furnace - 8000x4500 mm;
    • withdrawable hearth furnace - 5000x12000x450 mm.

    Thermal Treatment:

    • Providing of mechanical properties on lengthy details upright O 500:2250 mm
    • Parts in salt baths and saltpeter O 200:450 mm

    OJSC "Turboatom" is a member of Ukrainian Association of Founders.

    The central factory laboratory has opportunities for:

    • chemical analysis of carbon and alloy steels , alloys, copper , aluminum , nickel-based;   
    • determining the content of oxygen and nitrogen in the metal ;    
    • testing of mechanical properties of materials and designs , including at elevated temperatures;    
    • ultrasonic , magnetic , eddy current , capillary , radiographic inspection of castings , forgings and welds , including large ;   
    • quality control on the following criteria - heat resistance , long-term strength , creep resistance , resistance relaxation ;    
    • definition of guaranteed characteristics of heat resistance in a given lifetime - using modern programming techniques.

    The turbines produced on OJSC “Turboatom" are successfully operated in power plants of 45 countries in Europe, Asia, America and Africa.

    More than 260 steam turbines with total capacity of over 60 million kWh produced for thermal power plants, of which 55 turbines for 16 TPP abroad.

    For 24 nuclear power plants produced 169 turbines with total capacity of more than 60 million kilowatts, of which 40 turbines for 7 NPP abroad. OJSC “Turboatom" put 13% of turbines for nuclear power plants of total product supply on the world market NPP turbines and now ranks 4 th place among turbine construction companies of the world. In Ukraine, three operating nuclear power plants (Zaporozhye, South Ukrainian, and Rovno) are equipped with turbines of OJSC "Turboatom" capacity of 220, 1000 and 1100 MW.

    «Drill Collars and Kellys Plant» Subsidiary Enterprise was founded in 1988. It is unique specialized enterprise utilized high-technological equipment with closed cycle of production from melting to manufacture the ready-made products.

    The plant engaged in manufacturing of Drill Collars and Kellys for drilling to extract gas and oil and also for geophysical surveying at all climatic zones.

    The production process of manufacturing guarantees high quality and reliability of our products.     Metallurgy

    The equipment of metallurgical production allows melting out the wide range of steel fill with low alloying to high-alloying and stainless.

    Initial raw material for steel melting is scrap metal. Melting is made in electric arc furnaces. Steel refining incorporates vacuum treatment and electromagnetic stirring for obtaining steel of high quality and purity.

    Steel teeming is made on casting installation for square-section bloom production within 200-500 mm side dimensions about 5000 m length and regulated geometric parameters of terminal product.

    Special steel is poured in ingot moulds of 6 t, 9 t, and 14 t weight.

    Forge production

    Forge production includes radial-forging machine and rapidly acting press allowed to get forging bar within 90-350 mm diameter and about 17 m length for production Drill Collars and Kellys. Further the bars are exposed to heat treatment included temper hardening for production required mechanical properties of finished product.

    The machining

    The machine-manufacturing shop represents continuous production equipped with high-productive special equipment for manufacture Drill Collars and Kellys and includes following:

    • uncenter lathes for machining the bars along external surface;
    • drilling machines for deep-drilling;
    • thread-cutting lathes for taper external and internal threads;
    • special tools for machining including equipment for hard banding.

    Drill collars hard-facing

    Upon the customer's requirement, hard-facing is operated on the pipes for increasing of the life time of our productions while well drilling.

    Tungsten carbide serves as the material for hard-facing.

    The process is implemented automatically with rigorous measuring of the material.

    Deposit of hard-facing is flush to 1/32" above O.D. of drill collar.
